I close my eyes to the destruction around me.
Only to find my sanctuary, the temple of my mind is also lay in ruin.
I open my eyes green with envy, and look to the people around me.
Do they not see the destruction all around?
Calling out to them
I plead for their help.
But they can’t.
They can’t understand.
The help I need is not a product of this world.
Once again I close my eyes to retreat to the once safety of my mind.
There is no longer any sense of comfort.
But darkness closing in.
I try to hold on to shred that ties me here
Slowly
It slips.
It slips though my fingers and I’m falling.
To fall was to be free…
To fall in more than one way….
Was Love
And that is all I needed.

Chuck couldn’t remember why she was so desperate to leave this life behind. She missed her aunts, she missed her bees, she missed everything she was. —
